Don’t like being penned in with heavy traffic or being stuck behind buses sucking in diesel fumes? Then plot a route to work via the quieter back streets and parks of London.
To save you time, the
LCC (London Cycling Campaign) have taken the headache out of the task of route finding by publishing 14 separate maps covering all of London and the surrounding areas .
These free maps are double sided with one side covering a specific region of London with the streets colour coded to indicate official cycle routes, and which roads are the quieter roads. On the flip side of each map you will find a handy enlarged map of central London.
The maps are free and are widely available from tube stations, bus garages, health and sports centres, doctors surgeries and bike shops. You can also order them online by following the link below, or by calling Transport for London's 24 hour information line on 020 7222 1234.
